CATALYST PARTNERSHIPS – Bringing together useful resources and loving volunteers to meet the needs of people in our community.
Catalyst started in January 2007 as a movement of a few individuals & families who simply wanted to bring the love of God to people through acts of service, community involvement, and relationship building; outside of an institutional religious format. Catalyst is now two separate non-profit corporations; Catalyst Community and Catalyst Partnerships.
CATALYST COMMUNITY - A small group network of people who seek to understand & connect with God & each other on a personal, real-life level
A good way to express the overall “Catalyst Project” and the 2 non-profits can be seen on the front page of our website at www.catalyst-project.com.
Our Mission: “Expressing the Love of Christ to People through Care and Community
Christ - Transformational Relationship with God. The first part of Jesus’ Great Commandment is to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” (Matt. 22:37-38). We seek
· to offer all of our lives, resources, creativity, etc., back to God out of loving gratitude for His goodness to us (‘worship’ as holistic lifestyle).
· Intimacy in relationship with Him through a healthy diet of individual Bible study, prayer, confession of sin, giving, and other spiritual disciplines.
· This provides the basis for living by faith in His guiding presence with us in daily life.
Care - Transformational Relationship with Our World - Imagine a lovely garden that provides lots of produce and is pleasing to the eye. Each plant grows from a single seed; planted & cared for in ready soil, as the miracle of life runs its course. The love of God is like a seed, able to produce beauty and health in the lives of all people. Unfortunately, the disappointment & skepticism of many people toward ’church’ makes for hard ground. Our calling is simply
Community - Transformational Relationships with Each Other - The second part of the ‘Great Commandment’ is to “Love your neighbor (everyone) as yourself.”
We seek to know and be known, to love and be loved; balancing our relational priorities: God, family, church community, friends, neighbors, etc.
Because, followers of Christ are meant to live in community with each other, we place a high priority on ‘doing life with’ other Christ-followers in the context of everyday life. We also seek to continually help each other with material and emotional needs as we are able, realizing that we do not ‘own’ anything, but are merely stewards of the resources God gives us.
